Raveena at PETA event

PETA is pushing people in India to adopt stray dogs rather than buying them. I guess it is a good cause.
Will anyone in India really do this? I was always under the impression that those street dogs are really filthy and  often have rabies.
NOTE: No real street dogs at the event. A doggie mascot for Raveena.
